BMC is known for bringing legendary Swiss precision to its bikes, and this precision is apparent across all of its bikes. In every BMC, on both mountain and road models, there is a unique sense of quality and attention to detail. The attention to detail extends past appearances and has a real effect on performance. For this reason, common to spot BMC bikes competing at the biggest cycling races across mountain, gravel, and road.

After over 15 years in the bike industry, in 2000, things started to change at BMC. This is when new leadership, BMC stared to design bikes focusing on performance, and set out to build the “Porsche of race bikes”. Within two years, BMC was sponsoring a professional team, and by 2005, a BMC bike won a Tour De France stage.

After some successes in the 2000’s, BMC really started to find big racing wins in the 2010’s. In 2011, Cadel Evans won the yellow jersey in the Tour De France, and in the following years, BMC riders also claimed victory at the UCI World Champs, the Olympic Road Race, and Paris-Roubaix, among countless other victories. While at the same time, on the cross-country mountain world cup, Julien Absalon, while on BMC Bikes, had a streak of dominating seasons.

BMC’s dedication to performance is still evident today. BMC was quick to embrace and design bikes for the demand of gravel racing and has found success when Pauline Ferrand-Prévot won the first UCI Gravel World Cup on a BMC Kaius, an aero-focused gravel bike. On the more adventurous side of gravel, BMC is also innovating with the URS (unrestricted) adventure gravel bike, which features an integrated suspension stem and elastomer in the seatstay, giving it some front and rear suspension without the weight or complexity of traditional suspension.
