Orbea’s racing heritage has not been restricted to the road either; in fact, at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Orbea’s bikes won both a road and a mountain bike men’s gold medal. In the mountain bike world cup, Orbea has a factory racing team for both cross country and downhill, where Orbea can put their bikes to the test on the world stage.

Orbea’s bikes are painted and assembled at the Orbea Headquarters in Spain’s Basque Country. Assembling and painting frames in-house at the company's headquarters gives Orbea a great deal of control over the process and enables its bikes to achieve the highest possible quality. Orbea’s in-house painting and assembly workflows also allow them to offer free custom painting and part selection on many of their models through the MYO program.
