Yeti Cycles

Yeti Cycles

Since 1985, Yeti has been developing cutting-edge mountain bikes that are designed to perform at the highest level of the sport. From legends like John Tomac and Richie Rude, Yeti has been the choice of many of the most influential riders.

Today, the designers at Yeti are using their 40+ years of experience to continue to make bikes that are ridden at the highest level of mountain biking. At HPC, we believe that Yeti's heritage allows them to make bikes that provide an unmatched experience, and we are honored to share this experience with our customers.

History

Yeti Cycles was born in California in 1985, right at the dawn of mountain bike racing culture. Founded by John Parker, a former Hollywood set designer turned mountain bike enthusiast, the company was built around a singular philosophy: build bikes that win races. In the mid 90’s, Yeti moved to Golden, Colorado, and is now synonymous with the rugged trails and proud mountain bike culture that can be found there.

Innovative Design

Yeti is known for innovative bike designs, and that is for good reason. On their cross-country bikes, in the search for weight reduction and simplicity, Yeti adopted the now-standard flex-stay rear suspension all the way back in 2003. Fast-forwarding to 2013, the Yeti ASR is way ahead of its time and looks surprisingly similar to the modern XC bikes that are lining up at World Cup races today. For this reason, it's no surprise that Yeti’s current generation of ASR is one of the most refined XC bikes in the current crop of race bikes.

However, most people today most people know Yeti for their trail and enduro bikes that loved for their ability to have great downhill performance while maintaining efficiency on the climbs. For that reason, the biggest innovation that Yeti is known for today is the Switch-Infinity suspension platform. Using a sliding main pivot, the Switch-Infinity suspension platform allows the designers at Yeti to engineer “seemingly contradictory characteristics” in how the suspension feels on the trail. First used in 2015, the Switch-Infinity suspension platform has been a staple in Yeti’s bikes, and today, excluding E-bikes and the ultra-light ASR, the Switch-Infinity suspension platform is still relied on for most of Yeti's bikes.

Community and Support

When purchasing a Yeti, besides buying a best-in-class mountain bike, you are also gaining access to a community of Yeti owners. Upon registering your bike with Yeti, you are welcomed into the community by a package filled with special, limited-edition Yeti merch. Each year, Yeti hosts an all-inclusive bike-focused retreat dubbed the Yeti Gathering, where Yeti owners are allowed to get unmatched access to both representatives from Yeti and fellow Yeti owners

For their customers, Yeti has top-of-class product support, offering a lifetime warranty protecting the original owner against any risk of manufacturing defects in their bike. In addition, Yeti has a crash replacement program that gives Yeti owners access to discounted replacement parts if a frame gets damaged in a crash. Both of these services are available through any Yeti dealer, ensuring that you will have the opportunity to resolve iuesses face to face with real people.
